I bring this thing everywhere.... no skipps..... long lasting battery..... faster burning than a CD-R...... Great quality (cant tell difference between CD's if you dowload the music)...This thing is very strong with its metal front.... i droped it a lot and it works perfectly.... I recently purchased these speakers through amazon.com and have been quite pleased with their performance. I wanted a way to listen to music in my backyard when company is over. In the past, I would run a cable into the house and mount a speaker, but that was difficult to do, and the speaker would eventually rust away. These wireless speakers serve the same purpose, but without the hassle of cabling.

As previous reviews have mentioned, they are extremely easy to set up. (1) Just plug them into a wall outlet, or put batteries into them (I am using wall outlets). (2) Plug the transmitter into a wall outlet. (3) Connect the transmitter to any audio device that has a headphone jack. (4) Start the music playing from your audio device. (5) Go back to each speaker, turn them on, and adjust the volume. If you can't hear anything, or the sound is fuzzy, press the tune button on the speaker until the sound quality is good. That's it--figure 5-10 minutes setup time the first time you use them, and less once you've used them before.

When you're finished listening, you can either leave the speakers outside (they are water resistant), or bring them back inside (which is what I do).

A couple of notes: if you're using an iPod as the music source, be sure to turn up the volume to almost the top end. Also, check the position of the speakers to ensure that they are within range of the transmitter. Also, despite the fact that you receive two speakers, you're not hearing true stereo. Final caution, while the speakers are water resistant, the AC adapter isn't, and should not be left out in nasty weather.

But, with all of those cautions aside, if you're simply looking for background music (as I was), or want to hear a game while sitting outside, these speakers work great.

Let's start by setting the right expectations - you're spending under 0, so you know right off the bat this is not a high-end full featured auditorium quality unit. It has limitations as you would expect - no equalizer so you won't be adjusting the tone quality. No balance control, so you have to achieve balance with speaker placement. You will need to go to the TIC website and search to find anything close to detailed instructions for things like setting the pre-set radio stations.

All that being said, I bought this unit because I wanted decent sounding music on my back patio when entertaining, doing a barbecue, things like that. It's PERFECT!!! I can leave it on top of my outside fridge under the gazebo and it won't be destroyed by moisture. Although you can't fine-tune the response with an equalizer, it's not too shabby - nice and crisp, the bass comes through. Not a ton of volume, but I don't need a ton of volume - I just want some music in the back because I spend so much time on the back patio. It's paired with a set of Hifi Works 'rock' speakers that sound great.

A couple of cautions - some of the other reviews spoke of bad or decaying sound quality. I suspect that this is the result of mis-matched speakers (use 8 ohm speakers), old speakers or bad wiring. Make sure the gauge of your speaker wires is correct for the distance of the wire runs. Other than that, if you are only interested in putting a sound-track to your outside activities, this is a great little unit!
