Hello, I did some research before buying this package deal, and got some very mixed opinions about the speakers and the amp. Well let me first start off by saying that I've had this product for about two months now and they are still working great with no problems. When properly setup and everything with a closed speaker box (I built my own) these speakers can really kick, and I am very happy with them. I have only had one problem thus far and that was that the amp can be over powered, in which when I turned the amp up too high the blue light on the top would dim every time the bass hit, but let me assure you the amp really does not need to be turned up this high, it is really loud if you leave the sensitivity at 1. Other then that this product has meet all of my expectations and I am very satisfied. This is a very good buy for the price, and I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone looking for a loud sound system at a reasonable price. After owning these speakers for a couple months, I went to the local metal club to see my favorite band play. It sounded like crap compared to these Cerwin Vegas. I always thought it sounded awesome there, but now I know just how good music can sound. I paired two of these with the Cerwin Vega 800 watt pro amplifier. I can never turn the volume past 20% because pictures will start falling off walls. But it's not just the volume of these, it's the CLARITY at high volume. At ear-bleeding levels, every high note and drum beat is crystal clear, precise, clean. I also used these for my wedding and everyone commented on how nice they sound. These are great for all types of music, but they really shine with rock and metal. It's nice to get some double bass with no distortion!
These also pull double duty as my front speakers for the home theater (I use the analog outs on my HTPC straight to amplifiers, I have no reciever). Yes, they are serious overkill for front speakers in a 20'x20' room, but I wanted to make sure my music sounded the best it could. I have to constantly tweak the volume though, because in many movies the L/R channels coming through these 15" speakers can drown out the rest of the movie... I also got the Cerwin Vega VE series center channel, which is fantastic (using a Dayton Audio 150 amplifier), and the VE series bookshelf speakers for the surrounds (using an Audiosource amp), which are pretty good too -- I mostly wanted the speakers voice matched, and all the VE speakers use the same tweeter. (I also use two Dayton 12" subs... which was not the best choice since the woofers in the CV 15's are noticeably better!)

I bought this because I needed a very small subwoofer for the very small trunk in my convertible (BMW Z3). I installed it about a week ago and I'm very impressed with the sound. People who hear the system are surprised that I'm only running a single 8" sub. It's powered by a 600 watt mono sub amp. I'm not trying to win an audio competition or set off alarms as I roll by. Instead, I wanted something to boost my low end and give tight kick when needed. This box delivers! The box was a little lighter than I expected, which I didn't mind during the installation, and there's a very tiny bit of rattle coming from the box, which may be due to loose internal cables, but it's not audible from outside the trunk so I haven't bothered to investigate further. Even with the rattle, I'm giving it five stars due to the great performance, ease of install, and low price.
